  I am writing this review not on the basis of AE apparel but rather this particular location at North Pint Mall. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years to the brand and recently moved to this market and began “trying” to shop in this store location. Let me begin by saying I work in another mall reatailer so I have a full understanding of what employees can and cannot do within policies as well as appropriate employee behaviors. I have visited this location 4 times with the intent to shop and had 1 successful visit. The other 3 visits were horrifying. (Several other visits but just to look.) Let’s begin with employee behaviors. I would terminate any employee if I knew they were sitting on the counter tops at the registers chatting away and not servicing customers. This happened the evening of 2/8/18. Backs to the doors, butts on the counter (not just leaning-sitting) phones out and no service. Besides horrible employee conduct they are rude and when I have a better understanding of their policies than they do there is a clear misrepresentation of leadership in this location. Every AE I have shopped at will do what is in the best interest of the customer. I have been told they will not exchange items even with the receipt unless I want to pay the higher price (no longer on promotion), they will not refund items for me purchased through the in store ordering process. I have never had an AE not price match to the website but then have an employee challenge me on the pickup in store policy. To make it clear it says pick up within a hour on the website. So if an employee tells me nope won’t honor the web price. Why wouldn’t I order it online and come back a hour later for pickup. Not this location they will only do the pick up at 10am so you are out of luck. And when you explain this to them the attitude you get and before you are even out the store will talk bad about you. I have tried really hard to stay loyal to the brick and mortars that keep people employed in the retail industry and NEVER shop online. But I will no longer support this location or it’s terrible employees. They should not be in the service industry or they need a retraining on what it means to service.
